It's not just about the game; it's about related travel
Making special arrangements for BYU's game days impacts the travel of the opponent, which in turn impacts other games. It's a sort of domino effect.
Think about what happens if what would ordinarily be a Friday-Sunday baseball series had to be shifted. You can play a double-header, which is not favored. You can shift the series to Thursday-Saturday, which means someone must enter the series with shorter rest than would otherwise be the case and/or possibly with expedited travel. If there is rain, you can't make it up on Sunday and travel considerations probably rule out carrying it over until Monday.
You can't play a conference tournament on Sunday. Which means any two-day event is going to take kids out of class an extra day.
So it's a little more complicated than it might seem on first impression.
